PhoneFace FAQ for Blackberry Users
-
Which BlackBerry smartphones does PhoneFace run on?
We support the BlackBerry Curve, Pearl, 8800 Series and new devices like the BlakcBerry Bold - essentially all the BlackBerry devices with a trackball. If you have have trackball, PhoneFace will work for you, otherwise - we're sorry, PhoneFace is not supported.
-
This is cool, but the photos are all grainy...
When you import contacts from the Address Book, we pull in any photos with the contact. But, the BlackBerry Address Book stores very small photos, so we have to make them bigger - but this makes them look all lo-res, blocky and grainy. To improve matters, simply select a new picture or photo for each contact. Photo's picked directly with PhoneFace will always look good!
-
Why does PhoneFace want access to my phone information?
PhoneFace needs to be able to read from your Address Book, so it can import contacts and information about the people you know. There's nothing sinister going on, so please "allow" this request if your BlackBerry asks you to!
-
How does PhoneFace work with Facebook?
Once you've loaded the PhoneFace application into your Facebook account - and you can do that here - go back to PhoneFace on your BlackBerry. When you add a contact you can choose "Look for Facebook picture...". PhoneFace will go online and try to match that contact among your Facebook friends. If it finds the friend it'll bring back their Facebook profile picture back to your Blackberry. If there is no match, then please make sure the contact is one of your Facebook friends, and that the name is spelt the same in both places!
-
What if I don't have photos of my friends?
Don't worry if you don't have any photos of your friends yet - we've included some sample images you can use until you see them again - then you can snap them with your BlackBerry camera. We've also got images included for Home, Office, Voicemail - and even a special one for your special one!
